Sweaters Aren't Just For People

It's 2012 and sweaters aren't just for people ...... or little wiener dogs. There's a new trend called "Yarn Bombing" and if you ask me, I think it's ahhhaaaaamazzzing. I stumbled upon this first picture on stumbleupon.com so I posted it to our facebook blog to see if anyone knew what it was. Didn't take long for someone to tell me what yarn bombing was. According to yarnbombing.com the trend actually started in Houston, Texas in 2005 when Magda Sayeg made a custom little cozy to cover the door knob to her boutique. Yarn bombing has since gained popularity over the years so keep your eyes open because you never know when you're going to spot a happy knit tree or telephone pole! Below are some pictures I found ...... and if anyone knows someone who loves to do this, tell them to email me because I want to yarn bomb the Lilyshop door!

..... Oh and speaking of little wiener dog sweaters we have a new shopkeeper and she sells just that! Check her shop out too : ) WarmWeenies

These are so beautiful. It's kind of like "tagging" in yarn!
