I have this wonderful obsession with cake stands. I have an entire collection in my dining room, but I have a particular love for antique cake stands. I go to our local antique store several times a month. I just love the feeling of making something old, new again. Everything has a story and it makes me feel good to give an old piece a new home. This and I really want to go back in time and live in the I Love Lucy show .... so walking around the antique store kind of makes me think I'm back in time.
This tutorial is totally easy by the way.
What you need: E-6000 glue or some other super strong waterproof glue, an antique plate (or regular plate), and an antique candle stick holder (or regular).
Now flip your plate over take the top off your glue.
Put a bunch of glue on your candle stick holder.
And stick it to your plate. I told you that was easy. Now let it dry for 24 hours.
And there you have it! My Newish-old antique cake plate that no one else will ever have!
And you know what's so cool about this? You can do this with any plate and any candle stick holder. Mix and match. You could even use paper plates with paper cups and create mini cake stands on the go for a picnic. I am sooooooo doing that next.
