Burlap Coasters
Normal

I loved our burlap utensil holders so much that we made burlap coasters!
Love, love, LOVE these : )

What you need:
(1) 12" x 12" piece of burlap
Wax paper
Scissors
Fabric paint
Sponge Brush
Stencils
Needle and thread or Hot glue

I used a 12" x 12" sheet piece of burlap from Michaels.

Cut the burlap in half and then cut it one more time so you have 4 squares. You will also need to cut 4 squares of wax paper to fit these coasters.

There are actually two layers in each sheet of burlap so each square should pull apart. Place your square of wax paper in the middle of the burlap. This will help protect your surface when you place a beverage on the coaster.

Stitch all around the open sides or use a little bit of hot glue to secure the edges.

Now you can leave as is or choose to stencil.
If you want to stencil follow my tutorial here: DIY Burlap Utensil Holders
