5 Simple Uses for Everyday Things

Keep Your Brown Sugar Soft.

Keep a couple marshmallows in your bag of brown sugar to prevent it from getting hard.

Bread as an Eraser.

You can remove most dirty fingerprints from painted walls by rubbing the area with a slice of white bread. Bread does a good job of cleaning nonwashable wallpaper as well. Make sure to cut off the crusts to minimise the chance of scratching the surface. Just take the piece of bread and roll it into a tight ball and scrub away.

Coffee Grounds = Food for Your Plants

Coffee grounds are full of nutrients that acid-loving plants crave. Save them to sprinkle in your soil around your rose bushes, azaleas, rhododendrons, evergreens and camellias.

Lemons Get Rid of Stains.

Get rid of tough stains on marble. Cut a lemon in half, dip the exposed flesh in some table salt and rub it vigorously on the stain. You will be amazed how well it works.

Left Over Wine? Make Ice Cubes.

If you have left over wine that you won't get to before it goes stale freeze it in your ice cube tray and save it for a dinner recipe or sauce that calls for it later on.
